WELCOME

“The glory of God is a (hu)man fully alive” (Irenaeus).
The only purpose of our life here on earth is to continually give praise to God, our creator by trying to be fully alive at every moment of our human existence. Being fully alive and active can be gauged only in terms of our participation in the growth and development of every sphere of the society that we are members of. In other words, for us Christians giving praise to our God happens in the community in which we live.

The mission of the Church therefore is to continually provide its members ways of making themselves fully alive thereby giving praise to their God. This is attained in concrete ways by growing in unity, fellowship and collaboration among its members, not just in areas of specific spiritual activities such as moments of prayer, celebration of sacraments, and other liturgical services; but we need to focus on dimensions of psycho-spiritual integration, socio-cultural development, politico-educational awareness etc. in addition to our specifically religious and devotional practices. The methodology that we should follow to achieve our objectives should be based on Christian values and gospel principles.

From July 2017, here at Bayard, Bridgeport, and Dalton, we the members of Catholic communities have been trying to develop our strategies which are more participatory and communitarian in nature so that our goal of making God’s Kingdom come alive visibly in our midst may not be seen just as isolated, individual tasks of the members of the Church but more as collective responsibility of all Christ’s disciples.

To this end, this website has been launched. And if you are already here, you are welcome to have a look at our life in communion and the way we live our Christian discipleship.
